The College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Taiyuan University of Technology was founded in 1949. In 2017, the college was selected as the national "double-class" key construction discipline, ushered in a new period of development.

The college comprises 4 departments including Department of Chemical Engineering, Department of Chemistry, Department of Process Equipment and Control Engineering, Department of Chemical Product Engineering, and Institute of Fine Chemical Research.

The college has a total of 115 faculty members including 33 professors, 46 associate professors and 36 lecturers.

Between 2014 and 2019, the college was awarded a total of over 53 research grants by various government agencies including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Ministry of Science and Technology of China. Our faculty published nearly 700 papers (SCI) and filed authorized invention patents on more than 200 items. The total research funding reached over RMB 60 million yuans.

We are proud of our excellence in chemical engineering education. Over our 71 years, more than 20,000 students have graduated from the college. Our outstanding alumni include 3 members of Chinese Academy of Sciences/Chinese Academy of Engineering.
